A Travel System is an all in one mode of transport suitable from a newborn to either 3 or 4 years old depending on the model. The aim of the travel system is that it converts throughout the early years, to adapt to yours and your Childs’ needs, with the aim of only needing to buy the one pram to see you through until they can walk without getting too tired. The only downside to this is travel systems are often heavier and bulkier than your average stroller.
They often come with a car seat or a car seat can be bought separately to attach to the travel system, allowing you to take your baby from in the car directly onto the pushchair, without disturbing them too much. Whilst these are very popular, it is important to remember a newborn should never be left in a car seat for longer than 2 hours. The car seat is usually only suitable up to 9 months.
Many of the newer models offer a carrycot to attach to the main frame, so that the newborn can lie flat, and be left there to sleep if required.
